Dry Eye - Lasik Term and Glossary

A condition due to a deficiency in the production of tears by the eye 's lacrimal glands. Symptoms are redness and swelling of the white of the eye. The eye also feels hot and gritty. These conditions may cause an excessive watering of the eye, but it's the chemistry of the tears that is deficient, not the quantity. The condition is usually easily corrected by the use of artificial tear drops prescribed by your eye doctor.
