Radial Keratotomy {RK) - Lasik Term and Glossary

In recent years, the most widely used refractive surgery procedure to correct mild to moderate cases of nearsightedness and some cases of astigmatism. The procedure involves the placement of patterned surgical incisions in the peripheral area of the cornea in order to reshape the cornea to the degree required to make the desired refractive error correction. The process does not invade the central zone, or visual axis, of the cornea.
